Sebastian cannot say he was surprised when the first night in the house, Jamie woke him up and crawled into Jim’s and his bed. The child was shivering and sniffling and mumbling about nightmares, and when all he can do is tug the child close and for once in his life he feels so dangerously protective. Times like these when he thinks he just might, he just might burst from the feelings he has for Jim and this child, it’s not something he ever expected to have to deal with but he wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
They could live in a small house, they could live on barely any food and he’d still want this tiny being in his arms and this mad man beside him. But once Jamie has calmed down, the shivering almost stopped he keeps the child close and make sure that Jamie knows it’s all right now. In the morning he’ll wake up and most likely Jim will have gone up and Jamie won’t be in his arms anymore, he’ll hear the commotion of the both of them and he’ll decide that he doesn’t miss his job. He doesn’t miss thinking that Jim might just get killed if he doesn’t do his job good enough. No, he doesn’t but he still loves the guns and they will always be in his life, with or without his family.
